It was not meant to be a hard core herp bit, but it does really reflect my time there.
More exciting news, got a couple pairs of Teva's (see here) and these are by far the best shoes I have ever worn, period. I had some of the sandals on a shoot in florida, and they were awesome. My producer gave me a couple pairs of their shoes, and they are mind blowing, light, amphibious, amazing. I am eagerly awaiting my new Teva hiking boots, which I should have next week.
Also got a pair to give away on www.fieldherpforum.com go there to win them!!
I am off to ohio for a few days...

"I WAS BITTEN" third shoot
This past weekend (20-21 Sept), Gurney productions shot more reptiles for the critically acclaimed show “I WAS BITTEN”. As usual, we pushed the envelope with cutting edge technology and insane reptile action that has made this show so popular. It was a long two days of shooting in the hot LA sun, with the final day being extremely successful, getting many “never seen before” shots.
See repeats of episode one at the following times, and watch here for more info on the series

First post
This is my blog, right now, not so interesting, but as my travels begin, I hope to use it as a diary and to help me remember things I have done as this life whizzes by.
This year I have been to 12 countries, and I have been really bad about keeping notes and writing down my adventures. Hopefully this blog will be a tool for me to share and remember.

Donald Schultz and Devon Massyn Affiliation: Herpetological Research Consortium (Herp ReCon) Presentation Title: Swaziland , Kingdom of Herps Devon Massyn and Donald Schultz are co-authoring a field guide to the snake of Swaziland . Devon could not make it as he is researching in the field in Mozambique at the moment The Kingdom of Swaziland : a small Southern African country about 1/40th the size of Texas ! An amazing country which has an extremely rich natural reptile biodiversity with almost the same number of reptile species as the entire United States of America ! A new revolution in herpetology has started to take place in Swaziland . A new reptile park has opened its doors and will be working as a base center for a lot of new and exciting work that is taking place. A lot of genetic work is already under way and a new telemetry study on Black mambas (Dendroaspis polylepis) will hopefully begin in the near future. | |
